Macaroni Review: NatureRaised Farms®

I was asked to participate in the #FarmToGrill campaign, sponsored by NatureRaised Farms® and Sam’s Club, so I headed out to the Sam's Club on 60 to pick up some NatureRaised Farms® All Natural Boneless Skinless Chicken Thighs. I can be pretty picky about the food my family eats, so it was good to know that, "NatureRaised Farms products come from animals raised without antibiotics, hormones, or steroids; fed a 100% vegetarian diet; that are third-party animal welfare certified."

Once inside Sam's, it was easy to find what I was looking for. There was a nice display of NatureRaised Farms chicken products, including chicken breasts and whole chickens, in the meat section.

I picked up this package of All Natural Boneless Skinless Chicken Thighs. It had four sealed packets of chicken that were a little over a pound each. This is a perfect pack for my family: two packages to cook now and two to cook later in the week or freeze.

The next day was my son's 4th birthday. He had requested macaroni and cheese for dinner, but we needed a main course to go with it. I also had some family coming over, so this was the perfect opportunity to cook up the NatureRaised Farms® All Natural Boneless Skinless Chicken Thighs. I put them in a resealable plastic bag with some Sonny's Sweet BBQ Sauce, that I also bought on my shopping trip to Sam's, and let the chicken marinate for about an hour. (side note: How awesome is it that you can buy Sonny's BBQ sauce in the store?! We used to go to eat at Sonny's all the time, but... uh... after the third kid, we don't get out much!)

Grilling the chicken was super easy and super quick! I sprayed the grill with cooking spray, heated it up, put the chicken on and brushed it with the remaining BBQ sauce from the bag. I flipped it once, brushed on the rest of the BBQ sauce and that was it. Easy peasy. I ♥ grilling!

Look how pretty it came out! But was it good? It was! I have to admit that we are generally a chicken breast only family and I usually shun the dark meat, but this was tasty. All the kids and guests ate it up. Two of three kids asked for seconds, and I would say those are pretty good odds. Because I am overcautious about undercooked chicken, I sometimes overcook chicken breasts on the grill. This was not the case, the chicken thighs were evenly cooked, tender and juicy. I am looking forward to cooking the other two packages. I think I am going to grill them and then shred them up to make BBQ chicken sandwiches! Yum!
