All of Papa Murphy's pizzas are take 'n bake. In other words, you choose one of their specialty pizzas or design your own, they make it up for you at the store and you take it home and bake it in your oven at your convenience. This means you could pick up a pizza in the afternoon during the pick-the-kids-up-from-school run and still have fresh hot pizza at dinnertime :)

I really liked the Chicken Bacon Artichoke deLITE and the Herb Chicken Mediterranean deLITE. Both had crispy crust and reminded me of gourmet restaurant pizza, rather than take out.
Papa Murphy's has a large variety of specialty pizzas including Chicken Bacon Stuffed, Veggie deLITE, Gourmet Chicken Garlic and "The Cowboy." One really cool thing is that they'll split your pizza in halves or quarters (maybe even eighths if you ask nicely) and make totally different pizzas in each section. They can even combine a red sauce based pizza with a garlic sauce based pizza on the same pie! We wanted to try out a bunch of varieties, so we created a "Frankenpizza" with Hawaiian, BBQ Chicken, Mushroom, Murphy's Combo and Taco (yes, taco pizza is exactly what it sounds like) sections.

Packed in mini pizza boxes, which are perfect to re-use for pretend play, are the Mini-Murphs. The kids were able to make their own kid-sized pizzas at home with these kits. You can get a child's perspective and see my Mini-Macaroni's review of them HERE. I think the kiddos had a lot of fun making their own pies and I was able to enjoy my own topping filled pizza without hearing complaints about a rogue tomato, onion, or some other veggie. Everyone got to eat what they liked :)
We were also able to try out some of Papa Murphy's sides: salad, Cheesy Bread, a Cinnamon Wheel and the kids' favorite S'mores Dessert Pizza! Oh, and there's the cookie dough. You may have noticed that there is no photo of the cookie dough. It's made with pasturized eggs, and although they recommend baking the cookies-- What a concept! :), most of the cookie dough may or may not have been consumed before we were able to actually bake a full batch of cookies!
Papa Murphy's has been around in other parts of the country for a long time, but they are new to Brandon and this was my first experience. I liked it! The pizzas tasted like they were made with quality ingredients and were a nice change from my family's usual go-to $5.95 pizza. With coupons and the specials they run, the prices are pretty comparable. I have stopped in a few times since my first visit, and picked up a "Macaroni Kid Special" (a large one-topping pizza and two Mini-Murphs for $10.)
You can check out Papa Murphy's on Facebook or stop by the Brandon store at at 859 Lithia Pinecrest Rd (next to Wal-Mart Food Market) and pick up your own MacKid Special. Just be sure to tell then that Macaroni Kid Brandon sent you :)
