Lets Help Local Foster Families!

It Takes a Village

By Janet Rinaldi November 27, 2020

We connected with a very special mom in our area that is working to help Foster families have a special Holiday Season.  West Florida Foster Care services are having a Holiday event, Twinkle in the Terrace, December 19, 2020, from 5 pm - 8 pm at Temple Terrace United Methodist Church at 5030 East Busch Boulevard. They have partnered with Temple Terrace United Methodist Church and South Tampa Fellowship to offer an evening of holiday fun for the whole community, focusing on supporting and encouraging local foster families.  Foster families will be able to attend a private shopping hour from 5-6 pm (by invitation only) and will also have a chance to fill stockings for each child in their care.  They will also receive a fresh food box, as well as other special gifts in appreciation for the selfless hard work they do to care for some of the most vulnerable children daily.

This FREE holiday event will be open to the public from 6 pm-8 pm.  Families can enjoy a night out celebrating the holiday season with:

  • 🎤 Live Music
  • 📚 Readings of The Christmas Story
  • 🎅 Photos with Santa
  • 🏃🏻‍♂️ Activities for Kids
  • 🍪 Treats
  • 🎨 Crafts
  • 🕹 Game station (FREE to everyone)

There will be several food trucks for families to purchase food and drinks, as well as local vendors selling their wares for those last-minute holiday shopping needs.

RAFFLES:  Check out their Facebook page for some fun raffles prior to the event.  www.facebook.com/WFFCS

Hillsborough County is leading the state with the number of children in foster care and our local foster families need our support more than ever.

Information will be available if you have ever considered becoming a licensed foster home.
