5 Great Parks and Playgrounds in The Brandon Area

Parks and playgrounds we love in our area!

By Ileana Lazala April 23, 2021

We are lucky in the Brandon, Riverview, Valrico, Lakeland area to have so many great playgrounds and parks to explore. From swings to slides, to climbing walls and water features, Brandon's parks and playgrounds keep our kids active, are a great place to meet old and new friends, and they're FREE!

I often get asked what our favorite playgrounds are, so I thought I'd share here with you my family's picks for our top five playgrounds and parks to visit in the Brandon Area.

Paul Sanders Park

606 W Bloomingdale Ave
Brandon

What we love about Paul Sanders Park:

One of our favorite places to go to let out some energy.  This park has lots of space to run and climb and has nice natural tree shade during sunny days.  The equipment is well maintained and there are covered pavilions for parties or just to sit and have lunch.

  • Picnic Shelters
  • Playground
  • Restrooms
  • Picnic Shelter Rentals
  • Large Tree Shade
  • Easily accessible parking

Bertha and Tony Saladino Park

  • Dog Park
  • Basketball Court
  • Open Field

All Persons Rotary Park

800 S Parsons Ave
Brandon

What we love about All Persons Rotary Park:

Our kids would say these are the best swings and splash pads in our area.  We have had meet-ups with friends and the kids always want to stay a little longer.  The large playground and shaded areas make for a nice place for the family to go to get out of the house.  Both big and small kids can find something to do here.

Amenities at All Persons Rotary Park:

  • Picnic Shelters
  • Playground / Swings / Splashpad
  • Public Parking

  • Picnic Shelters for Rent

Alderman's Ford Park

100 Aldermans Ford Park Dr
 Lithia

What we love about Alderman's Ford Park:

Beautiful spot for a nature walk.  The paved trail is a 1.8-mile loop that can be walked or explored on a bicycle.  The park is well maintained and every time we go we spot a safely distanced gator in the water.  This park has a $2 per vehicle entrance fee.

Amenities at Alderman's Ford Park:

Common Ground Park

1000 E Edgewood Dr

What we love about Common Ground Park:

This park is worth the drive!  This park has equipment for all abilities to play together.  The kids stay busy for hours with all of the different equipment.  There is so much playground that a map is needed for the different areas :-).
