Tucked inside the larger River Ranch Resort property, the River Ranch Water Park may not be the biggest in the state, but that’s exactly what makes it so family-friendly. With a large, heated swimming pool, three waterslides, and a kid-approved splash pad, it's the perfect size for a day of family fun.
Parents will love the relaxing, shady cabanas and poolside bar, while little ones can safely play in the shallow areas and make new friends at the splash pad.
The water park is only part of the overall experience, though!
Westgate River Ranch Resort is a full-on dude ranch, with horseback riding, swamp buggy tours, airboat rides, and even a Saturday night rodeo that’s a big hit with kids and grown-ups alike. We were not there for the rodeo, but we will definitely be going back on a Saturday night to catch one.
Families can stay in everything from traditional lodge rooms to luxe glamping tents and fully-outfitted Conestoga wagons. The accommodations strike a great balance between rustic charm and modern comfort, with thoughtful touches that make you feel welcome from the moment you arrive.
My family stayed in the luxe glamping area, giving us the best of both camping and glamping worlds. We’re admittedly not tent people, but this wasn’t just any tent. This was a large, air-conditioned room with bathroom and shower amenities. A front porch, breakfast delivered to our door each morning, and an electric golf cart topped off the luxe glamping amenities in the best way.
While visiting the resort, the little ones can try pony rides and enjoy a petting farm, while teens and adults can take on airboat rides, skeet shooting, guided fishing trips, horseback riding, and more. The general store and ice cream shop are great for mid-day treats, and the on-site restaurants offer delicious meal options.
Evenings bring live music, campfires, and stargazing opportunities that make the whole trip feel like a retreat into simpler times—with Wi-Fi still available when needed!
